Eco Park Resort Reviews tripadvisor.comTraveler Rating: 5 out of 5 "Stayed at a lovely Resort on the way to Mt. St. Helens. We found it on the web and was thrilled with the place and the owners. Awesome plae for families to stay. My husband and I along with our 2 kids really enjoyed our selves. They have horseback tours, helicopter tours, great hiking trails, cozy accomodatins and a wonderful cafe. Their cabins are really cozy and nice. You and your family will really enjoy themselves. Give it a try if your headed to Mt. St. Helens, visiting Washington State or live just a few hours away. Just a 1.5 mile drive from Portland, and about 2.5 from Seattle. Check out their website and see everything they have to offer. Just minutes from Mt. St. Helens and 3 wonderful visitor centers. The Forset Learning Center, Coldwater Visitor Center and Johnston Ridge Observatory. All centers are not to miss. Great for all ages!" Traveler Rating: 5 out of 5 "It is beautifully maintained with plenty of wildlife. Their restaurant had the nicest interior and ambiance of all of the places we ate at in Castle Rock. The cafe is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the food is good. Plus, there's entertainment. When we were there, they had bluegrass music. "Dawn and Mark are sweet people who really seem to love what they do. We went on the four-hour horse tour with Mark and saw some sites (mudflows on the Toutle, acres of dead, standing dead forest) hat we wouldn't have seen upclose anywhere else. He also provides a local perspective on explosion and rebuilding process that you don't get from the visitor centers. "If you're there to see the volcano and appreciate what nature has to offer, this park is a compliment the experience."
The Oregonian (May 15, 2005): There must be a better way to visit the volcano than on an exhausting 225-mile day trip from Portland. Thankfully, there is: It's called Eco Park Resort.
Big mountain, little camping The Olympian (May 15, 2005): There are 110,000 acres in the Mount St. Helens National Volcanic Monument, but there is not one formal campground -- and no spots at all for car campers...So, what is a camper to do? There are two main options that are within easy driving range of the monument, which is where most of the impact of the 1980 eruption is visible. More from The Olympian: Destination Mt. St. Helens
VACATION OFFERS BREATH OF FRESH AIR -- LITERALLY The Longview Daily News (July 20, 2004): "The life of a single working mom tends to be scheduled down to the minute. It only makes sense that to truly enjoy a vacation, we need to schedule a time for no schedules. I found the perfect trip for the boys and me. No trains or planes to catch, no televisions, phones, computers. And if the boys got on my nerves, no witnesses." |
